Background

Three weekends ago, I had the joy of attending the Better Together Festival, a celebration of women with ADHD.  (And despite the cold, rainy, windy weather, it remained a celebration!)  I got to lead a hangout session, which sparked a lively discussion around how to pack for a trip in a timely fashion.  I’ll lay out some of our group’s ideas below.  Given the energy and passion around this conversation, I suspect you may have your own!  Please respond by e-mail, and I’ll compile your responses and post them on my Facebook page.

A common packing scenario is stuffing  your suitcase full at the last minute, zipping it shut with no time to spare and racing off to the airport, desperately hoping you’ll catch your flight.  Of course, in the midst of all this, you forget some things you need and pack some things you don’t.  Plus the entire time your Cortisol levels are breaking world records.

This flurry right before the deadline is such an interesting and frustrating phenomenon.  You may ask yourself, “Why can’t I pack sooner?  What’s wrong with me?  Why does this always happen?!”
