Lazy Susans up High

PROBLEM: I can’t reach the items in the back of my
top cupboards.

SOLUTION: Use a Lazy Susan for your top cupboards.
Turn the Lazy Susan and easily access the items in
the back of your cupboards.

HINT: Put light items on the Lazy Susans in the high
cupboards. Travel mugs are shown in the picture.

Really, I spent an hour surfing?!

PROBLEM: My computer sucks me in. I just want
to spend a bit of time relaxing so I play Tetris or
check Facebook and next thing I know an hour has
passed.

SOLUTION: Decide ahead of time how much time
you want to spend relaxing in front of your computer.
Then set a timer. The “ding” of the timer allows you
to recognize the passage of time.

HINT: It can be helpful to set the timer for smaller
chunks of time (10min.). You can chunk your time into
beginning, middle, and end or play time then 10 min.

Toys, Travel, and Kids

PROBLEM: I have a lot of little toys, stickers,
puzzles, and games. I don’t know what to
do with them.

SOLUTION: Create a travel container for kid
stuff. Put items in this container that are
appropriate for travel. When a trip is coming
up, grab a few things from the container and
away you go. Not only will you have a home
for these items but you might have a few
moments of peace on your next trip.

HINT: Find a home for this container…a hook
in the garage, a spot in the hallway closet, or
a high cupboard in the kitchen.

Travel – Did I forget something?!

PROBLEM: Whenever I pack for a trip I’m
stressed that I will forget something.

SOLUTION: Make a list of the things that
you take on trips. Before the trip add things
that pop into your mind. After the trip add
things that you wish you would have brought.
Keep this list in your suitcase or in a place that
makes sense to you.

HINT: On the list have another category for
speciality items that only go with you on certain
trips (special keys, rabies certificate for pet).
