PROBLEM: I know that I would use the tools in my
toolbox more if I easily knew what was in the box.
I don’t make an index with the contents of the box
because I think it will take too much time.
SOLUTION: An index doesn’t need to be fancy in order
to be effective. The index can be as simple as a
handwritten list that has been written on a ripped piece
of paper.

PROBLEM: Sometimes I don’t have the right sized
container for a space.
SOLUTION: Think of the leftover space in a drawer or
shelf as a container. Leftover space is the space that
is created between organizing boxes or baskets and
the size of the drawer. In the picture, the left hand
side of the drawer doesn’t have it’s own metal container
but it is the perfect space for larger plastic serving spoons.
HINT: Differently sized organizing boxes or baskets can
be configured to make differently sized and shaped
leftover spaces to fit your needs.
